Where are you from country/city and what do you study in your country?
I am from Nainital, India. Nainital is also known as the district of Lakes. It is approximately at the altitude of 2,084 m.
Back in India, I did my Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Engineering and also did various Research work with Uttarakhand Forest Department, Government of India. My Research topic was “Forest Ecology & its Management”. I learn new things and came to know the reality of our Environment. I also was able to encounter many problems but without enough knowledge in Field of Forestry, I was able to provide limited/few remedies. I did an internship at “Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observation Sciences (Aries)”, Government of India. I was working with the technical team to develop a new website and also with another team for Monitoring the Space Activities as well as to monitor Earth. While monitoring Earth, I again came across to reality. Since I don’t have enough knowledge about forestry and I wanted to do something for the Mother Earth, So I applied for my Masters in Forestry. And Luckily I got a great Chance to pursue my Masters from Mendel University in Brno.
What is your culture?
My culture is Kumaoni but my religion is Hindu. Kumaon is one of the two regions and administrative divisions of the Indian state of Uttarakhand, North part of India. Kumaon is full of mountainous ranges and endless mountain Peaks. The Kumaoni culture is immersed in folklore and tales of innumerable gods and goddesses. There isn’t a river or a mountain that isn’t associated with one folktale or another. But been born to a Family who been living in the Mountain under the Grace and Shadow of The Great Himalaya’s for thousands of years, I have a very special connection with Nature. That enables a very special harmony for nature in me. Been born n raised in the Valleys of Mountains (The Himalaya’s) I am like the “Son of Nature”. Morally I have developed the culture of Forestry. And I wanted to help Mother Earth with the Climatic Challenges she is facing.
Why do you study in the Czech Republic?
Been at the center of Europe, the heart of Europe. This enables the Czech Republic to share boundaries with many countries and that also make it rich in Biodiversity. As it shares a lot of different Species of trees n Plant. So it’s a perfect place to pursue my Master’s in Forestry as I am able to learn about different species in one place. Secondly, the Czech Republic has given some great Scientist like Gregor Johann Mendel, Drahoslav Lím, Antonín Holý, Ferdinand Stoliczka(he worked in India), and many more. During my school days, I used to read about them and always wanted to be a part of such a great Country, especially where the Genetics was discovered.
What is your study at the Mendel university in Brno?
My study at Mendel University in Brno is the Master Degree course in the field of European Forestry.

And in University, I met so many people from around the world which helps me to get more exposure in life and to have more new information about the world. And I met great Professor and Researcher here in the University that has so many things I mean so much knowledge to share. We went on Excursion, Fieldwork, Practical Work, etc that is helping me a lot with my knowledge in the field of Forestry. And the experiences and knowledge which the professors and researchers have been gaining, when they share it with us it’s like a head starts for us towards our Goals. I am very fortunate to be a part of this Great Institution that has provided me a perfect platform to express my true ability and achieve my Goals.
